Gernrereviews On YA covers - a link

Another great post from this blog, this time about YA book covers. She doesn't pose this time - the theme is all those ball dresses on the covers. Go check it out.

A great topic, and such a pertinent one. I'm actually going to see if I can get some marketing/design people weigh in on these covers and get their thoughts.

Let me know when you do and I'll put in a link. I've had some interesting experiences with designs. Never having written a YA paranormal, they were not *that* kind of interesting. :-) Wolfborn has a wolf on the cover. The cover of Crime Time was designed by the wonderful Grant Gittus, who also did the design for Aussiecon 4, and screams "Pick me up!" The one before that, Your Cat Could Be A Spy, was tested on children before publication. One design had a cat on it, one had a spy. The votes were about even - girls liked the cat, boys liked the spy - so they used both! Working in a library I know the girls pick up the prom gown books, whatever you and i think of them. ;-)
