The Hunger Games movie is coming!

If, like me, you've read and loved the Hunger Games trilogy, wander over to the Book Hounds web site, where Mary has put up the trailer for the new movie, which is coming out in March (oh, please, let it be here at the same time!). The trailer looks quite faithful to the book.

It was this time last year when I first read the books - I got through the whole trilogy in as many days. I think this is one of those YA series that will become a classic. Think Tomorrow When The War Began meets The Running Man (book, not film!).

The books haven't been borrowed from my library for a while, after a lot of borrowing some time ago, but with the movie coming I might just be able to persuade the students to give it a try.

I cannot wait for this movie to come out. I think maybe after some of the kids see the movie they will be interested in reading the rest of the series.

I've only read the first of the trilogy, would you believe it--really must finish it off!

What are you waiting for, then? ;-) yes, they may just be interested, but I thought I'd get lots of interest for the Tomorrow When The War Began series too - another series that was wildly popular for a while - and the only taker was a boy who was already a fan and wanted to re-read them. And with my budget slashed I'd run out of cash to but the new covers. Still, the Hunger Games is going to get a big promo in this National YEar Of Reading.
