I got this from Sean Wright's Bookonaut web site. He found a free site where you could turn the last 25 posts on your blog into an ebook. I have experimented with mine. If it works, it opens up a lot of possibilities!
If you want to see my blog as an ebook, try this link: Great Raven ebook . You get the choice of mobi or ePub.
There are other things you can do with it, choosing specific posts - and Sean explains it all here. Sean wants to use it for entering this year's Ditmar Awards. Some folk like to use their blogs to publish their fiction - the possibilities are endless, as long as you have a blog.
I have a new year 8 class who will have iPads. This would be a great activity to do with them, if I can get them blogging. They can use it for story writing or just posting. Kids LOVE the idea of being published! Maybe a book club activity? Some of them are writers and poets...
Thank you, Sean!

I don't know about this years Ditmar's :) Would have worked well for last years. Most of my hefty fan work this year were podcasts.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I have noticed is that if you have an ereader that's not connected to the internet, the images won't show up ie my Adobe digital editions displays the images on my laptop but other ebook viewers won't
My interest is getting my students to use their school- supplied iPads. And while at school, at least, they will have access to the school network. But even without images it will look very cool! :-)
ReplyDeleteThere's also a possibility that you might be able to take the collated file and edit it with the WYSIWYG editor in the Sigil epub software.
ReplyDeleteIs that an app you can get? Anyway, I am currently going through my posts and adding tags to those I might want to collect. This is fun! :-)
